AI Consultant Manchester ("we", "our", "us") is the trading name of the North West branch of The AI Consultancy (London) Ltd, the data controller for personal data collected through aiconsultantmanchester.co.uk. The data controller is registered at 70 Horseferry Road, London, SW1P 2AY. This notice explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, the lawful basis for processing, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
We collect the personal data you submit through the contact form, the AI time-savings calculator, or by emailing us directly. This typically includes your name, email address, company name, phone number (where supplied), and the content of your enquiry. We do not collect special category data and we do not ask for it.
Our web hosting provider (Vercel) records standard server logs including IP address, user agent, and request URL for the purpose of security, abuse prevention, and platform reliability. These logs are retained by Vercel for a short, rolling period in line with their published terms.
How we use it
We use the personal data you submit to respond to your enquiry, arrange a discovery call, deliver the materials you have requested, and follow up with related information about our services where you would reasonably expect us to do so. We do not sell or rent personal data to any third party.
Email delivery
Outbound transactional email (such as form submission notifications) is sent through a third-party email delivery service that processes the relevant message metadata and content on our behalf as a data processor under a written data processing agreement.
Cookies and analytics
aiconsultantmanchester.co.uk uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site, which pages are useful, and where the site needs improvement. Google Analytics sets first party cookies (typically _ga and _ga_<container>) used to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. Data is processed by Google as our processor, with IP addresses anonymised by Google before storage. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or cross site tracking, and we do not run marketing or advertising cookies on the site.
We rely on Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR (legitimate interests) for this analytics processing: understanding aggregate site usage is necessary to operate and improve the service. The processing is limited to first party measurement on our own site and does not involve profiling for marketing purposes.
If you do not want Google Analytics to record your visit, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or block third party scripts and cookies in your browser settings. Beyond Google Analytics, the only other cookies we set are strictly necessary cookies required for the contact form and chat assistant to function. If we add marketing or advertising tools in future, we will request your consent through a cookie banner before any such cookies are set.
Lawful basis for processing
We rely on Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR (legitimate interests) to respond to enquiries you initiate and to follow up about our services in a way that is proportionate and aligned with your reasonable expectations. Where you actively opt in to receive additional materials, we rely on Article 6(1)(a) (consent). Where personal data is processed in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, we rely on Article 6(1)(b) (contract).
Retention
We retain enquiry correspondence and contact details for as long as there is an active business relationship and for a period of three years thereafter, after which records are deleted or anonymised. Statutory accounting records are retained for the periods required by HMRC and Companies House.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: request access to the personal data we hold about you; request rectification of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; request restriction of processing; object to processing carried out under legitimate interests; request data portability; and withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis. To exercise any of these rights, email ai@aiconsultantmanchester.co.uk or write to us at the address below. We will respond within one calendar month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The ICO can be contacted at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
